Seattle

To celebrate my "big" birthday, my amazing husband surprised me with a trip to Seattle.  I have always wanted to go there, and it totally surpassed any of my expectations! Seattle has such a cool and relaxed vibe, and fantastic food.  It was so nice to get away just the two of us for a few days, with absolutely no agenda besides a few dinner reservations! We were totally tourists---we hit the space needle, ballard, the fish market, century link and safeco fields, and lots of little shops and restaurants. (thanks to my friend Donna for some great suggestions!)  We stayed at a GORGEOUS hotel that was within walking distance of most everything!  To say the trip flew by is an understatement! I had such a wonderful time just hanging out with my best friend.  I am such a lucky lady, and I will gladly turn another year older every year if this is what getting old is really like! =)

such an amazing view

the coolest place to walk around...and enjoy some fresh fish!

so now it is official, we are registered visitors to the space needle

even with the clouds it was so pretty

this was such a cool stop---nothing like a molten lava cake with homemade ice cream, beer and wine!

Scott truly knows the best places to stay---this one maybe my favorite hotel so far!

yum!!! such a great dinner!

Scott gave it two thumbs up too

even though I loved this dessert, I was not ready to celebrate being older quite yet! haha!

of course I found a donut shop! the raspberry were  delicious!

this was so neat to see in person

we went to this amazing truffle shop, and our tasting included some very interesting coffee

it was so fun to watch the football games at a hipster bar with great food

the fresh seafood is out of this world!

had to  have some oysters

our hotel had a golf simulator in the basement, so Scott and I tried it out!

drunk monkey---rum, bananas,  ice cream, caramel corn, caramel sauce and whip cream. YUM!!!!!

and no trip to Seattle is complete without stop at the original Starbucks

Hailey V is 4!!!

How is it our little peanut is 4?!?! Where on earth has the time gone?!?! Hailey is such an amazing kid.  She has the best demeanor, and can easily go with the flow.  She has grown so much this year! Hailey currently is all about art projects, reading and writing---she seems much older and more mature than her actual age.  Hailey is in preschool two days a week, and on the other days she is active with dance and gymnastics. She loves music, and will always have it on in her room, in the car, or will sing it herself. She also is obsessed with becoming a master chef.  We let both kids watch it on TV, and ever since she is constantly asking to cook! If only she would be more adventurous with her actual eating, as she is super picky.  She really doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, and hates bread! Hailey celebrated her birthday for 3 days~and it was so fun! We had the family over for cake and ice cream on Friday after dance. Saturday we surprised her with a trip downtown to the American Girl store where she had breakfast with Scott and I and a mini shopping spree! That night we went out as a family to pinstripes, which is always a good time! Then on Sunday was her party with her close friends at a princess place. All the girls got to dress up, wear make up, get their nails done and have a little tea party.  They were such a well behaved sweet group of little ladies! She seriously was beaming the whole weekend!  We all love Hailey so much, and although I hate to see her get bigger, she has truly become the most kind, funny, smart and thoughtful girl.  We couldn't be prouder to call her ours!
