Cubs Game

When your trip to Disney is delayed, what better way to spend your time than at the Cubs game!
Scott was able to score tickets to the game the day after we were supposed to leave, and it couldn't have been more perfect.  The weather was great, the seats were AMAZING, and making memories with the kids was priceless.  WE are so lucky!

Go Cubs Go

checking out the trophy before the game---so cool!

hot dogs at wrigley are the best--especially with that view

Tyler was a little star stuck when Rickie Fowler showed up

and super excited when he got a ball

Our FAVORITE kindergarten teacher was at the game too! The kids were so excited when she stopped by!

This girl got not one, but TWO balls...this one from Javier Baez.  Scott and I were so proud when she got the second ball....she looked around and saw another little girl who kept waving for a ball. Hailey walked down to her and handed her the ball. Such a good girl. #mustbedoingsomethingright

perfect way to end the day--running the bases

First Day of School

I finally have my kids at the same school.  It is so weird to say I have a 3rd grader and a kindergartner, but I am so happy for them both. I hate to see summer end, but knowing my kids are in good hands makes it that little bit better.  Hailey was the most excited in the family. She has been with me at Dryden for the last 3 years as my sidekick, so she thinks she owns the place.  I know she will accomplish some amazing things this year, and was sooo ready to be in kindergarten. Tyler was excited to be with one of his best friends, and his teacher is super sweet. I can't wait to see him continue to grow.  I thought I would have more sad emotions knowing my babies are growing up so quickly, but I am so grateful to see who they are becoming---these kind, smart, well rounded individuals. I know it will only fly by from here, but I am so lucky to still be at home, which allows me to be at their school whenever I can. =) I know it is going to be another great year!

look at those smiling faces

Tyler is 8!!!!

8 years old....so crazy to think Tyler is 8 years old! I have no idea how this keeps happening, but I am not happy that they are growing this quickly!  Ty had such a fun birthday.  We started the week with his kids birthday party.  We looked up fun kids party ideas, and the first thing that caught his eye was a game truck.   I wasn't quite sure how 17 kids here at the house was going to pan out---but it was AWESOME!!!! They played video games, had pizza, cake, ice cream, hit the mario brothers mystery box pinata, and ended with a water balloon fight. Needless to say he had an amazing time!
The day before his birthday we went to see Robin Hood at the Metropolis. He really enjoyed the play, and our neighbor had arranged for him to meet some of the cast. Then on his actual birthday we headed to the book store, toy store, portillo's, and he decided to go to his golf league that evening. I was a little sad that golf trumped birthday dinner out, but instead we went to lunch the next day to celebrate at Benihana.  Ty definitely has good taste in food! =)  Friday we had the immediate family over for cake and ice cream, and Ty was beyond spoiled. The to finish out the week we headed to Great America to enjoy the gorgeous weather and fun rides!  Turning 8 is Great if your name is Tyler Ubert!!!

I will do an interview with Ty soon, but had to post some of these fun pics!

Super excited when this rolled up and parked in front of the house

All the adults could sneak a peek while the kids were inside

Yep! 5 flat screens, gaming systems,  and a huge leather couch!

Every kid was able to play at the same time----and they seriously were this well behaved

so---we got stuck on the justice league ride. for a while. so much so that we got the highest score of the day while we sat, and waited.  about 20 minutes later we finally got out, received free fast passes to line jump and enjoyed the rest of the day!
