Indianapolis

With our schedules being so busy this fall, Scott and I thought it was important to make some time for our family.  So we decided to take the kids back to Indianapolis for a fun quick weekend get away.  We drove down there early Saturday morning, and headed straight to the children's museum.  The first stop at the museum was the Haunted House. Tyler and Hailey LOVED it! Granted, it was during the "lights on" time, but it was still dark and filled with hidden facts, scary ghouls, spinning walkways, and missing dragon tails.  Then we spent the whole rest of the day checking out all the amazing exhibits.  Both Scott and I love watching their little brains absorbing knowledge. Then we headed to Keystone Crossing to walk around and grab dinner at Benihana. The kids had such a great time! Tyler seriously ate so much shrimp and zucchini, while Hailey just was in awe of the cooking! They both used their chop sticks, and asked when can we go again.  Needless to say they were pooped, so we headed back to the hotel and went right to sleep! Unfortunately Hailey got sick Sunday morning, which had us leaving Indy a little sooner than planned. She was such a trooper on the ride back. Both kids have their own great stories and memories of that weekend, and I am so thankful to get to have these experiences with them.  Life is good!

Back to School

Summer ended way too soon if you ask me! But it is great to have the kids back at school.  Tyler has the teacher he really wanted for 2nd grade. He is going to do so well with her.  Hailey has the same teachers as last year, and they are fantastic. She always has so much fun with them.  I know my  kids are in great hands, and it will be amazing to see how much they learn this year!

2nd grade! WOW!!!

Summer Recap

I knew we were busy the last few weeks of summer, but man did it go quick! Here's a few pics of the fun!

We had such a fun trip to Geneseo to visit Scott's college friends.  We enjoyed a great dinner with the Snodgrass' at their new home, and had a lot of fun staying with the Carton's. The weekend went by too fast, but it is always great to catch up with friends.
John Deere Pavilion---so fun to check out all the amazing tractors

she looked so tiny in that big tire!

Amy knew the best ice cream stop---it was sooo delicious!

Tyler loved helping Jason with the chickens. Just ask him about it!

Then we were off to the lake for the week.  It is amazing how no plans always turn into time flying by!
love watching the meatball on the pier

The tall ships docked in Sturgeon Bay, so we checked them out. The kids thought this viking ship was cool.

I had to go to Lynfred one day----and Christina was so kind to show us the new wine they were bottling. It is such a cool process and neat to see up close.  When we walked past these barrels Ty asked if any had Root Beer, and wanted to take a pic by them. Thanks Christina!

We finally made it back to the Wisconsin State Fair! We stopped at the Holsen's to catch up first.  They had some pretty amazing donuts and the kids enjoyed playing with their kids. I wish everyone lived closer!!! The fair was great.  Hailey loved the infomercial pavilion and Ty loved checking out the animals. Scott and I just stuck with the food and beer. I can't wait to go back next year!

The kids walked right up and got cozy with this cow. It was pretty darn cute!

A ride down the giant slide! Best bargain at the fair!
